Events Coordinator

Position Events Coordinator
Salary $30 per hour
Reports to Program Manager
Status Temporary Part-Time (20 hours/week), Non-Exempt


As an Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing, planning, and executing events on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays on the rooftop plaza of Chinatown Rose Pak Station. You will work closely with the management team to develop ideas, coordinate logistics, manage vendors/community partners, and ensure that events are successful and meet the needs of the community.


  • Collaborate with management to create a calendar of events that align with the community’s interests and needs
  • Outreach to community partners and organizations for tabling events at the plaza
  • Plan and coordinate events, including identifying community partners, vendors, ordering supplies, booking entertainment, and managing logistics
  • Manage event budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring events are within budget
  • Coordinate with community partners, vendors and manage community relationships to ensure their needs are met and events run smoothly
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including maintenance, security, and marketing to ensure all logistics are handled effectively
  • Create marketing materials and promote events through various channels to attract attendees
  • Ensure events are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate event success and make recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate with SFMTA for any issues with the Station Plaza
  • Other duties as assigned by management


  • B.A. preferred or 2+ years of community work experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in interacting with people in a positive manner.
  • Good knowledge of Google Drive and Microsoft Office Applications, such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent project management skills with a results-oriented focus, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Good level of personal organization, attention to detail and follow through with a strong ability to keep cool in stressful and high-energy environments.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy.
  • Must be dependable and have the ability to multitask and prioritize work while also being flexible to support staff needs.
  • Possess professional demeanor, integrity, good judgment, and great sense of humor.
  • Bilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) are highly preferred.
  • Able to lift or move at least 25lbs.
  • Commitment to taking regular Covid-19 health tests as required by program health and safety guidelines and/or current health directives.
  • Ability to complete Covid-19 vaccination requirement unless the individual qualifies for an exemption due to a disability or religious reason. (Exemptions must be approved by H.R.)
