Summer is almost upon us, and we are excited about our upcoming CYC summer programs for elementary, middle, and high school -aged youth. We’ll keep this page current as applications, dates, and other information become available. It’s going to be an amazing summer.

Elementary School Programs
CYC will offer a 6-week, full-day program with weekly field trips starting in early June 2023. Students will experience a summer filled with different STEAM activities as they look into the future of our community and the world around them, learn about important innovations, and discuss the positive change youth can make for the future.

Middle School Programs
For middle school students, CYC will offer three, 6-week summer programs open to all youth.
- Hybrid program: Our virtual/hybrid program will promote social, communication, and leadership skills through various online and in-person learning opportunities, including weekly field trips.
- Willie “Woo Woo” Wong program: Our Chinatown program at Willie Woo Woo Wong Clubhouse will provide youth with access to academic support and enrichment classes that include STEAM curricula, literacy, physical exercise, and project-based learning.
- Aptos Beacon Center World Tour Summer Camp: This comprehensive summer program encourages skill-building, project-based learning, social development, and community-building. Youth can choose from a variety of classes that match their interests and curiosity—e.g., DIY arts, STEM, sports and fitness, arts and recreation, college and career exploration, and academic development. We will offer exciting weekly field trips providing fun and outdoor adventure.

High School Programs
For high school students, CYC is excited to offer the following 6-week programs this summer for Rising 9th to Rising 12th graders. Dates below are tentative and dependent on school site availability.
- Balboa Project and SFI Programs: These comprehensive programs will encourage skill-building, project-based learning, social development, and community building. Youth will have opportunities to select a combination of academic and enrichment classes such as Writing, College Readiness & Exploration, STEM, Health & Fitness and DIY Art.
- CYC College & Career Access Summer Program: This program is designed for API high school students who want to explore their college and career opportunities. This program prepares students to be successful in the college application process—including their personal statements, financial aid applications, and scholarship applications—and create career journeys to fulfill their unique personal, educational, and professional potential.
