Team Members

Michael Wong is a Senior Director at Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC), leading initiatives focused on community engagement, disaster preparedness, and multicultural relationship-building. Before immigrating from Hong Kong in 1996, Michael previously served in the Hong Kong Police Department for more than 20 years. He is passionate about ensuring safety and cultivating resilience across diverse communities.

Prior to joining CYC in 2015, Michael worked at San Francisco SAFE and the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter, where he founded the Asian Community Preparedness Department. At CYC, he launched the Bayview and Excelsior offices, strengthening connections between African American, Latinx, and AAPI communities in those neighborhoods.

During the rise in AAPI hate incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael led efforts to support victims, providing financial assistance and connecting individuals with vital resources. As Senior Program Director, he remains dedicated to creating safe, inclusive, and empowered communities across San Francisco.
