Welcoming Dianne Feinstein to the CYC family
We’re excited to share that Dianne Feinstein Elementary School is the newest addition to our network of school-based programs. Led by Site Coordinator Kevin Siew and Assistant Site Coordinator Charlotte Wong, this program marks a meaningful milestone in our decades-long partnership with San Francisco Unified School District, leading afterschool programs. Our expansion into Dianne Feinstein Elementary is a reflection of the trust we’ve built with families, the school, and community partners, and we’re honored to begin this new chapter together.
The vision for this partnership has been years in the making. Program Director Vicky Chung-Louie, who has been working closely on this effort, shared, “This is a vision and goal I’ve had for many years. It is exciting to have a set partnership with a school, so we can continue the services we provide over the summer into the school year.” With that goal now realized, this new site gives us the opportunity to support more students in the Sunset and build lasting relationships starting early in their educational journey.
Connecting with students at the elementary level is especially powerful, not only do they gain academic support, but they also benefit from positive role models who help nurture their social-emotional growth. When students enter a CYC program in kindergarten and continue with us through middle and high school, we get to see their curiosity deepen, their talents bloom, and their connections to their communities strengthen. It’s a full-circle experience that inspires everything we do.
At Dianne Feinstein Elementary, students will join a welcoming afterschool community that offers academic support, social-emotional learning, and enrichment opportunities that spark creativity. From STEAM projects and arts activities to fitness, nutrition, and mindfulness, our programs are designed to give students energy and encouragement to end their day on a high note. All activities are led by caring adult staff who foster meaningful relationships and help students thrive inside and outside the classroom.
We’re proud to welcome Dianne Feinstein Elementary into the CYC family and look forward to all that we’ll build and celebrate together.
