CYC serves the city through our main office in Tenderloin—a neighborhood known for its economic challenges. Our largest programs, computer clubhouse, and weekly food pantry are all run from this office. In Tenderloin, we also facilitate our afterschool program at Redding Elementary and participate in neighborhood street festivals.

Programs in Tenderloin:

AYPS (Asian Youth Prevention Services) partners with multiple agencies citywide that work together to promote a substance abuse program. The program teaches youth about leading a healthy lifestyle, making sound choices, and avoiding the pitfalls and dangers of drug, alcohol, and nicotine abuse.

The CYC Computer Clubhouse provides a creative and safe out-of-school learning environment for youth to explore their own ideas using technology. The Computer Clubhouse has the latest hardware and software for youth to acquire technological skills for personal, academic, and professional development.

Newcomer Club (NCC) provides support to youths who are adapting to a new life in the United States as immigrants and as Americans. This program equips youth with the life skills and knowledge to adapt academically and socially with their peers going through the same journey.

CYC’s elementary after school program is designed to incorporate enrichment, educational, health, and wellness activities to supplement traditional classroom learning. Specialized clubs, sports, nutrition, and tutoring help expand students’ social and emotional development.

Transition Opportunities and Programs (TOPS) for Success connects newly immigrated and monolingual high-risk API Transitional Aged Youth (age 17-24) with caring adults and peers to help them successfully transition into adulthood with the necessary skills through wraparound services.

Young Asian Women Against Violence (YAWAV) is a 9-month youth leadership program where youth learn about the root causes and impact of violence. The program is dedicated to the positive empowerment and development of Asian Pacific Islander high school-aged young women.
