Youth are the center of our community.
Community Youth Center of San Francisco champions the diverse youths in our community–giving them a voice in their futures and pathways to success.
For over 50 years, CYC has provided the youth of our city a sense of belonging and vital tools and experiences to succeed in life.
CYC serves over 8,000 youth each year and is one of only a few agencies in the city addressing the needs of a diverse population of low-income, high-need, and at-risk Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), Latinx, and African American youth. We believe in opening doors of opportunity based on individual interests and needs, always with multiple entry points and multiple potential paths.

Celebrating community
Be there for our annual, family-friendly event on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Waverly Place in Chinatown for a spooktacular time—with arts and crafts, poster and costume contests, carnival games, and pumpkins
Building the future
CYC has worked in the Richmond District for over three decades providing opportunities for young people to excel in their lives. Our love and support for the neighborhood and its residents have inspired us to take a big new step—and we’d like you to join us.
Championing youth mental health
In the COVID-19 era, our city’s youth are dealing with trauma, illness, and significantly stretched or altered family, social, and academic relationships. Underserved and culturally/linguistically isolated youth are in danger of falling further behind and not having access to vital mental health and supportive services. CYC is approaching these challenges with commitment, creativity, and care.
Responding to anti-Asian violence
In response to rising violence against the AAPI community, CYC has joined with other local organizations to provide proactive, integrated, culturally competent violence prevention and intervention services. CYC is serving as the fiscal agency for the Coalition for Community Safety and Justice (CCSJ) and, through the Coalition, provides coordinated street outreach and crisis response services.
Positively youthful
Discover in our new 2021-2022 annual report how CYC is making a difference in the lives of youth and families across San Francisco.
