Honoring our SFMTA Community Ambassadors

Community Youth Center of San Francisco proudly recognizes the incredible service of our SFMTA Community Ambassadors. Since 2012, these dedicated individuals have helped make the Chinatown-Rose Pak Station safer and more welcoming. They supported public safety, assisted Muni riders, and built meaningful connections with neighbors and visitors.

Every day, the ambassadors made a difference. They helped seniors navigate station stairs, guided tourists who felt lost, and stepped in during emergencies. Their steady presence brought comfort to many, especially during moments of uncertainty or distress. In rain or shine, during quiet mornings or busy festival weekends, they were always ready to serve.

“Our Community Ambassadors have done far more than their job descriptions required,” said Sarah Wan, executive director of Community Youth Center. “They have become protectors, guides, translators, and friendly faces to tens of thousands of people who use this station every day. Today, we honor not only their service but the spirit of community resilience they represent.”

The Ambassador Program will conclude on June 30, 2025, but its legacy lives on. The ambassadors’ care and dedication strengthened Chinatown and left a lasting impact on all who passed through the station. Their work set a standard for what it means to serve with heart, and their contributions will continue to inspire us.

We thank the ambassadors for all they have done for our community.
