CAA honors CYC Executive Director Sarah Wan at annual gala

At CYC, our community-driven approach includes deep collaboration with other nonprofits doing important multi-racial and cross-racial justice work throughout San Francisco and across the country.

Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) is one such trusted partner, and so it was especially rewarding and moving for them to honor CYC Executive Director Sarah Wan at their annual Celebration of Justice on June 9, 2023. Like CYC, CAA has been a vital presence in the local API community for over fifty years, combating racial stigma and injustice.

We value our close collaboration with CAA to combat anti-Asian hate and build safer communities and congratulate them for 54 years of vision and service. We also congratulate fellow honorees at this year’s event African Advocacy Network and Unbound Philanthropy.

About CAA:

Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA is a progressive voice in and on behalf of the broader Asian American and Pacific Islander community. The organization advocates for systemic change that protects immigrant rights, promotes language diversity, and remedies racial and social injustice.
