Welcome spring in Chinatown

The Chinatown Springtime Festival returns to Waverly Place on Saturday, April 11, bringing families, neighbors, and visitors together to mark the arrival of spring in the heart of Chinatown.

From 11 am to 3 pm, Waverly Place between Sacramento and Washington will host an afternoon of cultural performances and activities for all ages. Families can move through the street at their own pace, taking part in an egg hunt, hands-on arts and crafts, carnival games, and a petting zoo. Local merchants will also offer special promotions throughout the day.

Lion Dance performances will open and close the festival, continuing a tradition that brings rhythm and meaning to gatherings in the neighborhood.

The Springtime Festival is the first of three Waverly Place events in 2026, followed by Craving Chinatown and the Chinatown Halloween Festival. Together, these gatherings support local businesses and create shared moments that reflect the history and ongoing life of Chinatown.

We’re grateful to the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development and LionDanceMe for their partnership in bringing this event to the neighborhood.

Waverly Place will be open and active throughout the afternoon as the neighborhood welcomes the season.
