The 11th annual Chinatown Halloween Festival returns to Waverly
The Chinatown Halloween Festival is back for its 11th year, bringing families, friends, and visitors together for a day of celebration in the heart of Chinatown. Join us on Saturday, October 25, from 11am to 3pm on Waverly Place for seasonal fun, cultural performances, and activities for all ages.
This year’s festival features a wide lineup of activities to enjoy throughout the day:
- Pumpkin patch: Pick out the perfect pumpkin and take home a piece of the season.
- Crafts and Games: Get creative, play, and make new memories with the whole family.
- Costume contest (Theme: Horror Movies): Show off your best Halloween look and compete for prizes! Contest runs from 1:00 – 2:00 PM with live entry on the day of the event through a QR code. Categories include Ages 2–10, 11–13, 14+, and family. Prizes up to $100 gift cards. Come dressed up and ready for fun.
- Lion Dances: Experience the traditional Lion Dance, a highlight of Chinatown events, performed by LionDanceMe, bringing good luck and prosperity.
The Chinatown Halloween Festival is the third and final Waverly Place celebration of the year, following the Chinatown Spring Festival and Craving Chinatown. Each event brings neighbors, merchants, and families together, creating moments of connection and pride for the community while also welcoming visitors to experience Chinatown’s culture. Together, they help keep the neighborhood’s traditions alive and its spirit vibrant.
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsor, the Office of Economic & Workforce Development, whose support makes this festival possible. We also thank our partners, the Chinatown Merchants Association, Chinatown Merchants United Association, Chinatown YMCA, LionDanceMe, and Self-Help for the Elderly for their continued collaboration in bringing the community together.
We can’t wait to see your costumes, share the excitement of the season, and celebrate another unforgettable Halloween on Waverly Place.
